What Are Vimar Arké Classic Light Switches?

Vimar Arké Classic is a designer light switch collection created by Italian manufacturer of electrical systems and light switches, Vimar. This series is known for its ultra-low profile and linear edges that beautifully complement minimalist and industrial interior-design styles.

The Arké collection includes the Arké Round series that feature a softer curved design with rounded edges in contrast to the Classic range. While this option is not featured in our products section, we can source this for you if required.

What Makes Vimar Arké Classic Light Switches Different from the Hardware Range?

Arké Classic combines the quality of Italian manufacturing with smart technology. Its modular design enables various home automation combinations to help manage living and workspaces while improving energy efficiency.

In What Ways Can You Customise Vimar Arké Classic Light Switches?

Arké Classic provides flexibility to match your design through its availability of a variety of colours and materials, button styles (On/Off and Bell Press) and modular configurations. Vimar also has available Australian power points to match your chosen light switches. 

The Arké Classic collection has optional LED backlit switches with day/night symbols, universal dimmers suitable for LED and energy-saving lamps, axial controls – where buttons remain flat and aligned with the cover plate, as well as wireless radio-frequency technology and video intercom solutions.

The buttons and power outlets come in three colour options: white, metal, and black, which can neutrally pair with any of the Vimar light switch cover plates. 

The modular system also allows different configurations to suit individual requirements, including lighting and home automation controls, when required.

What Technology is Compatible with Vimar Arké Classic Light Switches?

While design is a major focus of the Arké Classic, the range also supports advanced electrical functions for automation systems and lighting controls.

The whole Arké light switch collection is compatible with the KNX international open standard and Vimar’s proprietary By-me home automation systems.

KNX allows lights, air conditioning, blinds, security, and other devices to work together and be controlled from a single network. 

If you are working on a bigger project that requires integration of multiple systems within a building, such as hotels, offices, commercial buildings, and other large projects, KNX may be more suitable for you as it is highly scalable and customisable for complex installations. KNX will also make it easier for you to expand or integrate Vimar devices and systems with other manufacturers’ products.

On the other hand, the By-me home automation system is primarily designed for Vimar devices and ecosystem and more suitable for residential and small-to-medium home automation projects. 

Both technologies enable management of lighting, roller shutters, climate settings, home music and some compatible appliances and security components, either locally or remotely from various paired devices. 

Can the Arké Classic Light Switches Help Reduce Energy Consumption?
